Joseph E. Sellers

 Joseph E Sellers (Sarge), age 94 of Tallahassee, Florida passed away May 3, 2024.  He was born in Kenansville, Florida.

He was a “Cracker Cowboy” in his younger years and served 20 years in the United States Army.  During this time he achieved the rank of E-8, served one tour of duty during the Korean War and two tours of duty during the Vietnam War.  While in Vietnam, his first tour was with MAC-V (Military Advisor Corp-Vietnam) and the second tour was with the 101st Airborne.  During these two tours he received numerous medals and citations to include two Bronze Stars, the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry w/gold star (the highest award given by the country to a non-citizen for valor and heroic conduct while fighting the enemy)

He loved his family and friends, and loved to hunt and fish. He is survived by his son Rex, and his wife Nancy, from Dayton Ohio, his son Ron, and his wife Karen, from  St. Cloud, Florida, and daughter Pat, and her husband, Jim Ray from Port St. Joe, Florida.  Several grandchildren, great grandchildren and lifelong friends.

He will be missed, but we know he is celebrating with loved ones in Heaven.  Funeral services will be held at the National Cemetery, in Tallahassee with full military honors on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 2:00  In lieu of flowers, please donate to Shriners Children Hospital 844-739-0849 or St. Jude 800-608-3023, or your favorite charity.  Fairchild Funeral Home (850-386-8686) is handling the arrangements.
